Summarize yourself in 20 words or less.
Ice Bear is Ice Bear.

[Ice Bear speaks very little, always in a soft monotone, refers to himself in the third person, and doesn't emote often. He's on par with professional chefs, knows martial arts, is pretty much a ninja, and knows his way around a toolbox. But he knows he's awesome as it is and isn't prideful enough to need to boast about it.]

What's your home life like?
Ice Bear keeps the house. Cooking. Cleaning. Repairman.

[He's a responsible homemaker who looks after his older brothers. And he likes it that way. Hard work is it's own reward and all that.]

Tell me about your favorite people.
Grizz is oldest brother. Panda, cutest brother. Chloe, still tiniest human Ice Bear has seen. Tabes, impressive ranger.

Was there ever a "turning point" in your life?
Ice Bear has many turning points. Always turning.

[From his mother being caught by trappers to Yuri teaching him most of what he knows, to setting out on a chunk of ice, to meeting Grizz and Panda as cubs, to moving to San Francisco...if he turns any more often he'll get dizzy.]

Do you perform well under pressure?
Yes.

If you went to a deserted island, what two things would you take with you?
Ice Bear ax.

[He doesn't need more than that one item. He's been to a deserted island, lived on the streets, and was born in the arctic. Anything else he needs can be found there. But you said two soooo...]

Maybe also a backpack.

How do you normally spend a Friday night?
At home.

[What he does exactly really just depends. Sometimes it's hanging with his brothers, other times its working on Roomba or doing some extra cleaning.]

If a genie granted you a single wish, what would you wish for?
Ice Bear would wish for a bigger fridge.

[He really wishes they could have afforded that nice condo with the nicest fridge he had ever seen. But his cave is nice too.]

Do the ends justify the means?
Sometimes. Ice Bear must get things done.

[Ice Bear will try to take on his problems in the most upfront way. If he does something that he knows is wrong outright he won't feel good about it. But he's not immune to bad judgment and sometimes the "right" choice doesn't fit the situation.]

How did you feel about this survey?
...

[Ending the call now. That last question was a waste of time.]

This had been the most exhausting Halloween ever, as far as the polar bear was concerned. But at least it was over and they were back at the cave. Ice Bear was quiet as he began to wash the dishes that had been left unattended, which was not unusual for him. His mind wandered back to the day's events though. He had a lot to think about.

The piercing noise that knocked him out again, finding Max stuck in a werewolf costume and upset because he hated Halloween. Dressing up to take the kid out Trick-or-Tricking and seeing things were too perfect. Saving Max from an actual werewolf that turned out to be the least dangerous thing out there. Seeing parents turn on their kids and falling upon them like something out of a horror movie. Running from a murderer who could freeze objects in time. So much danger for anyone, let alone to a small boy who already hated everything. Ice Bear pitied the small human.

They were safe now, and had even brought the friendly werewolf back with them, but for how low? Ice Bear felt responsible for them, especially Max. He had to keep the boy from danger and he wasn't sure that he could as he was. He needed to find out more about this place and how it worked. Learn how to gain an edge. For now though, he needed to finish cleaning up the kitchen and then get some sleep. He still had to cook in the morning and now there was another mouth. A second mouth was not upsetting as long as Matt obeyed the house rules and kept an eye on Max.

Drying the last plate, Ice Bear began to put them away quietly. It was too late for loud noises. Then he wiped off the table and the stove, rinsed out the sink and hung the rag up to dry. Pulling of his apron and hanging it on the hook near the fridge, he opened the door
and stepped inside. Turning, he leaned against the wall and settled into a sitting position and pulled the door closed, relaxing in the familiar chilly darkness to sleep. He would only get a few hours in at this point, but he could nap after morning chores were settled if he needed to. Breathing out, he let himself recline as much as the cramped fridge allowed and fell asleep.

Ice Bear is hard for just about everyone to read most times due to his near-silence, monotone voice, and lack of expression. He doesn't speak much, preferring action to express himself, and is actually physically incapable of raising his voice to match his mood. When he does speak, he speaks in third-person, uses few words per sentence, and speaks few sentences at a time. This doesn't stop him from properly getting his thoughts and opinions across though and he does feel strongly about his friends and family.

As the youngest bear, Ice Bear 's place is the bottom of the stack. They view their stack as a boat, but Ice Bear sees himself as being the boat. He doesn't mind carrying their collective weight though and is content with his place normally. Similarly, his role in the cave is that of housekeeper. He usually does the cooking and cleaning by himself, and often any repairs as well. He takes pride in his place, and doesn't appreciate any threats to his position or anyone ruining his hard work.

Despite having many activities outside of his various chores, Ice Bear seems to mostly enjoy them and doesn't really know how to do his own thing. Given the choice to pick an activity, chores are his first choice. He does enjoy yoga, martial arts, knitting, and watching ice-skating as well though. He also will play games with his brothers or friends, anything from charades to basketball. He may also try to humor them if they want to do something he really isn't interested in.

One of the most notable things about Ice Bear is his versatile nature. He applies himself to many things and is always at least adequate, but often excels at just about anything that he sets out to do. Most of what he does comes across as effortless, but is less him showing off and more using his skills to their fullest. His strongest skills are in ninja movement and cooking, with martial arts and yoga being potentially close behind. The sheer amount of things he can do and has done shows that he may very well be the most intelligent.

Ice Bear is completely comfortable in himself and who he is. He takes up trends that get him acceptance, but he won't outright change himself to make himself marketable. He's not ashamed of his appearance and won't physically change himself, and he won't do anything that outright goes against his beliefs.

Despite the amount of people that have ignored or wronged him in his life, Ice Bear isn't particularly wary of humans and has no problem interacting with them. If not given a clear reason to mistrust them or they aren't annoying him, then he's pretty easygoing when it comes to them. Even as a cub he was more than willing to approach people as needed, or to be picked up and given affection by those who seem kind. As an adult there's less of a desire for affection from anyone offering, but no less ease of being around them. He's even had a crush on a girl.

On the opposite side of that, Ice Bear doesn't really mix with other animals, as those that speak have been extremely few in number. Most are just regular animals and so he usually doesn't deal with them if there's no reason to, much like a human in his position would. He does speak bird, most notably pigeon, but that's as far as his communication skills seem to go. He seems to have a fairly strong dislike for dogs as a cub, and most animals he's been seen around as an adult have been a major nuisance. The exception to this is crabs, namely Captain Craboo, as when his brothers brought Craboo home he pinched Ice Bear's ear and ruined his day.

While he's not portrayed as being fearless, Ice Bear maintains his composure much more often than not. He's rarely one to panic and is often the first to take action when there's trouble. He's fiercely protective of his brothers and friends, even if he doesn't exactly like that friend, and will try to do right by them. One thing that really seems to unnerve him is crabs, which he seemed to dislike anyway before one pinched his ear and wouldn't let go. For a time, he wouldn't go near them. But this is actually short lived in the show as he later bonded with Craboo and Craboo stood up for him when he was shoved by Nom Nom, the incredibly cute but mean koala viral video star.

Being a polar bear, Ice Bear is most comfortable in cool environments. He uses cool breezes to de-stress and sleeps in the fridge rather than an actual bed when the option is there. He is also mostly a carnivore, though he doesn't exclusively eat meat. He's somewhere between being domesticated and being wild, enjoying all the comforts of modern living but not considering himself human and not being a pet. He can become feral and violent when starving though, and would remain that way until he finds food. He doesn't remember being such though and so acts as though nothing happened.

Even at an early age, Ice Bear has had an affinity for sharp weapons such as axes, machetes and ninja starts. He has even crafted a makeshift ax from a soda can and a machete from a piece of wood. As an adult, he often sleeps with his ax. He has had the skills to be fully independent from an early age too, but he seems to need to have a place despite this and follows Grizz's instructions rather than taking charge.

Abilities
Ice Bear is very strong, able to carry both of his brothers on his back and run for miles without tiring while doing so. He's also very agile and had been from a young age. He has excellent focus that can be applied to many things, even being able to correctly guess all impressions in charades without fail.

Despite his preference to speak very little, Ice Bear can speak English, German, French, Russian, Japanese, and Korean, as well as communicate with birds. He does not seem to be able to speak to nonspeaking animals though.

Despite his more domestic life, Ice Bear is physically a normal polar bear and has all of the traits associated with them. One odd thing is that his translucent fur allows him to blend into his surroundings when he wants to hide like the stereotype for a chameleon.

Along with his ninja-like agility, Ice Bear is also good at crafting things, repairing or building machines or vehicles, and the use of sharp objects. He's able to read even as a cub, which he may use toward mastering new skills.

Many specifics for Ice Bear's early life are not there, but he apparently was born and later orphaned in the arctic. He had been trying to survive on his own while avoiding the trappers who likely killed his mother. One day, he was drawn to a tent by a delicious smell from a pot of stew. Before he could help himself though he heard the owner return and tried unsuccessfully to hide from the large bearded man who found and attacked him on sight. The man sprained his ankle in the scuffle and overturned his pot, causing Ice Bear to feel guilty and find a roll of bandages for him. Upon learning that the little cub had nowhere to go and that there were trappers around, as well as that Ice Bear could follow directions, he made a deal with Ice Bear. Ice Bear could stay if he did chores and earned his room and board.

As the days passed, Ice Bear learned to wield an axe to chop wood, to cook, to perform maintenance on a snowmobile, and many other essential tasks. He grew close to the man, Yuri, and was happy. One day while he was home alone, Ice Bear snuck a peek in an old chest that he had been warned not to on his first day there. It had a few things, including a family photo of Yuri with his wife and daughter. Putting it back, Ice Bear pretended to have seen nothing and went about his business, though the next day he made a gift for his friend. After a game of cards, he presented the gift, a carved horse just like the one that Yuri's daughter had been holding in the photo. Rather than be happy, Yuri became enraged, smashing the table and chair and demanding the picture. It was broken by mistake and Yuri told him to leave so Ice Bear ran. Not far from the tent, his paw was caught in a steel trap and he couldn't escape. As the hunters approached, Yuri appeared to save him, though his snowmobile broke down as they fled. They tried to run but were cornered by the sea. Rather than let any harm come to Ice Bear, Yuri set him on the ice of the ice and chopped it free with the axe he always carried, setting Ice Bear adrift and leaving the axe with him. For a little while Ice Bear mourned being separated from his friend, but as he continued to float out to see he took up the axe and turned to face whatever was to come.

Through most of the series, he has pretty much always been with his two brothers Grizzly and Panda. As cubs, the three had often tried to travel around in their box, which had "Free Bears" written on the side, hoping to find a forever home. The fact that they were orphaned cubs in a human world also often meant that young Grizz had to be the one to try to provide for his younger brothers. This was done by performing and approaching humans to ask for money, food, or just to be taken home. Ice Bear did not speak at all as a child and actually never made any noise at all, opting for speaking with actions over words. It's not known yet exactly when he began to express himself vocally. But it is clear that even though he is the best suited for survival and tough situations, Ice Bear still relied heavily on Grizz's leadership to get by.

One major event in his childhood started with him and his brothers attempting to hitchhike in the desert. They met a fellow hitchhiker who they were at first suspicious of, but he won them over with granola bars and they let him share their box for the night. The next morning found them alone with only an indent in the ground where their box had been. They set off in search of their stolen home and found themselves in a shipping company just after closing, with access to more boxes than they could count. At first, they played with the boxes and stuff in them and the forklifts in the building, but eventually they split up after Grizzly and Panda had a fight over a big box. All three got lonely as the night went on and in the morning ICe Bear approached Grizzly to apologizing via singing wall bass. Before they could make up with Panda, the shipping resumed and the middle brother was taken by a conveyor belt. In going to save him, they were all packed in a box and shipped along with some goggles. They left the goggles on the doorstep they arrived at and set off in their new box.

Another point found the three cubs in a pet store where they hoped to be adopted. They joined the puppies and kittens in the window, where they used magazine clippings of the homes they wanted to find as an inspiring wall mural. But no one seemed to want them. One morning, a camera crew came to record a commercial in the shop. When they were unable to convince the crew to include them, they made themselves fake puppy and kitty ears and took the places of some of the featured pets. Despite appearing in the commercial, they remained unadopted until all the other pets were sold. The owner then put them in a box and tossed them in the garbage out back. As they were leaving, they encountered a bunch of people looking for them specifically and were each bought by a different person. Ice Bear was taken by a biker, who gave him a collar with the name Fabio. Soon he realized that he didn't want to be away from his brothers and used a bundle of balloons to float back to the pet shop, finding that they had also returned for the same reason. Reunited, they again set out.

At one point they attempted to fly to Sweden on a plane. When they split up to find seats so they wouldn't be tossed off as stowaways, Ice Bear was lucky enough to be taken in by one of the pilots. He had fun with them and almost had a nice pancake breakfast. One of the pilots went to get some syrup for them all and the other took the first bite, but began to choke and accidentally took the plane off of autopilot. Ice Bear managed to stop him from choking but he passed out and the door was stuck so the other pilot couldn't get in, so he had to figure out how to safely land the plane. When he did, the pilot he had saved showed him gratitude and he and his brothers got to share a plate of pancakes. But the plane wasn't to Sweden, it was to Boise in Idaho.

Another time they tried to cross the sea to Japan, but their box was destroyed by a wave and they washed up on an island. There they met Dave and Carla, two people who had been shipwrecked for quite some time. Carla took them in and they become very attached to her quickly. Ice Bear went out the next morning to help Dave gather coconuts, but spotted a downed helicopter and led everyone to it. They weren't able to do anything with it and it had no emergency supplies though, which upset Carla. To cheer her up, the bears set out to gather food. Ice Bear stumbled upon a hidden crate of supplies, but Dave took it and ran. When they tried to get it back, they learned that Dave didn't want Carla to get off the island until she fell in love with him. He dumped the supplies into a quicksand pit they had just fallen into and left them to die while he took their fruit to Carla. Grizz managed to save them using the inflatable raft from the supplies and they went to save Carla. After they ratted him out, they fled for the beach with Carla. Ice Bear was nearly held hostage by Dave, but he managed to save himself and they left on the raft. Sometime after they reached land, but Carla was gone. They seemed to have hit Japan though.

Around five years before the start of the series, the now adult bears began looking for a home in San Fransisco as an upgrade from their box. They looked at a large condo that had everything they wanted first, but couldn't afford it due to having less than $100 between them. They then looked at a small apartment but it was in terrible shape and Ice Bear had walked out after looking in the fridge, only to see something moving in the garbage that filled it. With no other luck, they eventually spent all of their money on a dreamcatcher to wish for a dream home with. A raccoon happened by and Grizz gave it the dreamcatcher to wish on, but it fled with the item and they followed it as long as they could to get it back. They finally gave up and took shelter from the rain in a dank cave. In the morning, the cave didn't seem nearly as bad though and so they renovated it into a proper home home. Panda commemorated the finishing with a photo of the three of them out front on his flip phone.

Over the next few years, they settled nicely into their new lives. Ice Bear rook up the cleaning and cooking in the cave and took the fridge as his bedroom. When not doing either, he was doing yoga, martial arts, knitting, or watching ice skating. And when not doing those, he was hanging out with his brothers doing whatever it was that Grizz decided for them.

The more noteworthy points in the canon that continue to follow them mostly revolve around the recurring characters that they've met. Grizz led his brothers into trying to become viral video stars and while they failed, Grizz met Nom Nom the super famous koala. Nom Nom is an egotistical jerk and was mean to Grizz, but later appeared on their doorstep after his being a jerk lost him his entire fanbase. Ice Bear and Panda had no sympathy for him, but Grizz felt bad for Nom Nom and offered to let him stay.

Nom Nom soon talked Grizz and Panda into helping him make a movie, but Ice Bear refused to help out. He sort of faded into the background as his brothers grew closer to the koala, but tried to continue as though things were normal. But then Nom Nom started taking his place and a minor dispute over Grizz's ketchup lead to Ice Bear tossing Nom Nom into a wall. When his brothers got mad at him and Nom Nom made it clear to him that this was an act, Ice Bear retreated to his fridge. He later woke to find the koala sneaking out and followed. He found plans in their shed that Nom Nom planned to set his brothers up in a dangerous situation to make himself a famous hero and possibly kill them, but before he could learn more or warn Grizz and Panda, he was lured into a pitfall which Nom Nom covered. His soft voice prevented him from warning them as they passed by in the morning, but he was able to save them when the mailman fell into the pit with an RC chopper that Grizz had ordered. Nom Nom was able to restore his internet status anyway, but not at the expense of his brothers.

Chloe, now their closest human friend, initially met the bears in hopes of researching them for her college class. In exchange for candy, they allowed her to study their everyday life and became close to her. The same night she finished her research and paid them their candy, she had to rush out and forgot her laptop. Shortly after she texted them to ask them to bring it to school for her, but they had peeked at her report and decided to make it cooler since they didn't like what she wrote. Unfortunately, their attempt was not well-received by her teacher and students so the three of them stepped up to take responsibility and agreed to answer any questions the class had for her sake, no matter how personal. Afterwards, they talked her into coming over for a movie.

Chloe continued to hang out with them, so eventually it came out that because she was a very young prodigy, she wasn't connecting with anyone in her class. The bears decided to help her make friends, but their attempts only made her more awkward. Grizz got the idea to throw a big party to show her maturity and, while it got out of hand, Chloe made some friends. Assuming that she would no longer need them, they waited outside for the party to end with some sadness because they thought that this would be the end of their friendship. Chloe had stayed to help clean up too however, having no intention of ditching them just because she had new friends.

When his brothers got distracted by a hard game on a day they were supposed to meet Chloe, Ice Bear went alone to hang out with her. When she asked what he wanted to do, he produced a long chore list. His continued inability to express anything he wanted to do for fun, made her determined to try and help him have some. But her attempts all failed, until he saw a picture of an albino alligator on a bus ad for the museum. He wanted to see it so they went to the museum twenty minutes before closing. She tried to get him interested in other things as they started towards the enclosure, taking up fifteen minutes of their time and leaving not enough to see the alligator. She refused to leave before he got to though and they snuck in, with her even going right into the enclosure to coax it out. When the guard came looking, Ice Bear joined her and the gator soon came out to investigate. Ice Bear got a good long look as it studied him before it took the sandwich Chloe had tried to feed it and walked away Chloe tried to apologize for causing him trouble, but Ice Bear only smiled. They waited outside for her mom and fell asleep on the car ride home.

Another acquaintance they gained was Charlie, a Bigfoot with a lonely and well-meaning attitude who was very obnoxious. The bears met Charlie when Grizz decided to turn their cave into something akin to a bed and breakfast. Charlie was their first guest, and was messy, talked a lot, and put cheese poofs and his fingers into the soup Ice Bear made for dinner. Between Panda and Ice Bear both disliking him, Grizz was going to ask him to leave, but many people had camped outside hoping to get a picture of Charlie. Feeling bad for him, as Charlie did't want to be followed or photographed, the bears helped him trick them all so he could leave.

Eventually they ran into him again on a hike. When Panda saved everyone from wolves, Charlie treated him as leader and switched the dynamic of their stack so Panda was on top now. Ice Bear went along with it at first, but became annoyed when Panda dictated his bedtime. His annoyance didn't stop him from coming to his brother's rescue when the entire pack of wolves came for revenge, but even Charlie couldn't help them intimidate the Alpha. Grizz stepped up to take charge again, and once the wolves were gone apologized for taking advantage of being the oldest. Ice Bear expressed the desire to be top bear, and forced them to stand in a freezer with him.

Charlie visited them with produce-based sculptures of them and wanted to hang out. They tried to politely slip away, but he convinced them to come to a big party. The party was in the woods with a bunch of animals they didn't know and couldn't understand, but they couldn't bail on Charlie politely. When he left them there to get more snacks, they tried to mingle with the animals but eventually went home when it had gotten late and Charlie still wasn't back.

While playing basketball, Panda was injured and Grizz and Ice Bear were left needing a stand-in. Charlie showed up to help Panda at the cave, and Grizz recruited him when they saw he had game. Only they had to teach him to play. And then Charlie became a ball hog when he got into the game, even stealing the ball from them. When Panda's arm healed, Grizz at first tried to nicely tell Charlie that Panda would be playing. Charlie was a jerk about it though and Grizz kicked him off the team, which all three agreed was for the best. The next morning they found Charlie playing for the other team though, but Panda's shoulder had healed weirdly and allowed him to shoot baskets easily. At first, the teams were pretty equal because of this, but Charlie injured the same arm and Panda lost his new skills. Charlie scored the next basket, but lost his disguise and was revealed to the humans. As he cowered in fear of their stares and cameras, the bears moved quickly to stop any pictures from being taken so he could escape. They later found him and he apologized. They forgave him and offered to play some two-on-two, though Ice Bear called him because he knew Charlie was a winner.

One of the biggest challenges they faced as a family was the near-destruction of their home, when the city decided to build a cell tower where their cave was. Ice Bear tried to distract the crew as his brothers desperately tried to find proof that they had lived there for at least five years. They even called the press and tried to protest. Just before it was too late, Panda remembered the photo in his flip phone from when they first finished the cave and ran to get it. The picture served as adequate proof and their heavily damaged cave was saved.
